As a vendor, you can pause active installments and subscriptions. This has the advantage that you can reactivate them at any time as soon as the payment plan is to be continued. You pause the payment for the desired period of time and then reactivate it.
This is how you pause a subscription or an installment payment
1. log in to your CopeCart account and go to your transactions from the main menu.
2. Scroll down and you will see the table with your orders.
3. In the table, select the order you want to pause. You will be redirected to the order overview of your customer.
4. Click on "Pause payment".
You can reactivate the subscription or installment payment at any time by clicking on the βResume paymentβ button in the same order overview.
Please note that resumed payments are charged according to the original payment interval, i.e. according to the payment plan that a buyer had agreed upon when purchasing a product. Thus, the next payment after reactivation is due on the corresponding next payment date.
Good to know:
Special features of Stripe: In contrast, Stripe, another payment provider, does not charge payments as a single amount during the break. There is a continuous flow of payments without interruption. Thus, there remains a monthly payment of 100 euros after the pause. The suspended installments are placed at the end of the payment agreement, so it is extended accordingly.
Pausing invoice payments is not possible. All other payment methods (credit/debit cards, PayPal, SEPA) allow pausing subscriptions/installments.
You cannot change the payment interval. The customer subscribed to your product weekly and the payment schedule is December 1, December 7, December 14, December 21, December 28 and so on. The first payment was successful, and you pause the subscription on December 5. Later, on December 9, you resume payments. The customer pays on December 14 according to the original payment schedule.
